Sports physiotherapy is assessment and rehabilitation for the strains, sprains and overuse problems that come from sport and training, and for getting back to your sport. Sports medicine clinics may also include other professions. Clinics differ in what they offer, so ask what an assessment includes.

In most provinces you can book physiotherapy without a referral. Some programs may need one, for example a hospital or publicly funded program, or when an insurer or workers’ compensation board asks for one. Ask when you book.

Clinics set their own fees and we do not have prices for these offices, so ask when you book. Provincial health plans pay for physiotherapy only in some cases, and many extended health plans cover part of it.
