ClinicFinder.ca ("we", "us" or "our") operates the website clinicfinder.ca. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, how we use it, and who helps us process it.
Information you give us
Contact and clinic sign-up forms
When you use our contact form or the sign-up form on our For clinics page, we collect what you enter, which may include your name, email address, phone number, clinic name, city, province and message. These forms are processed by our own service on Cloudflare, which stores what you send and emails a copy to us.
Updates by email (optional)
The edit and claim form, the For clinics sign-up and the review form each have an optional box, never ticked for you, to receive occasional ClinicFinder.ca updates by email. If you tick it we keep your email address, the wording you saw, where and when you agreed, and a one-way scrambled version of your IP address. We send updates only to people who ticked a box, every message has an unsubscribe link and our contact details, and you can withdraw consent any time by using that link or writing to info@clinicfinder.ca. Not ticking the box does not affect your submission. We do not sell or share these addresses.
Listing edits and claims
When you use Request an edit to correct or claim a listing, we collect the changes you submit along with your name, email address and role at the clinic. We also record your IP address and browser details with the submission, to limit abuse and to help us review it. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a bot, is submitting it. Submissions are stored in a database run on Cloudflare's infrastructure.
Payments
Featured listing payments are handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your card details. Stripe shares with us the name, email address and payment status needed to manage your subscription. See Stripe's privacy policy.
If you write a review
When you submit a review of a clinic, we collect your rating, the text you write, the optional visit month and reason, the optional name you choose to show, and your email address. We use your email only to send one confirmation link and, if needed, to follow up about that review. It is never published. To limit spam we also keep a one-way scrambled version of your email and of your IP address, which cannot be turned back into either. We read every review before it appears. Reviews that are published show your rating, text and chosen name only, so please do not include other people's names or personal health details. You can ask us to remove your review at any time. Rejected and removed reviews, and the email address attached to them, are cleared 12 months after the decision. Email addresses attached to published reviews are cleared on request.
Information collected automatically
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. It collects information such as:
- Browser type, operating system and device type
- Pages visited and time spent on them
- The website or search that referred you
- Approximate location, at city or country level
Like any website, our pages also load some files from other services, which receive your IP address and browser details when they send them. These are Google Fonts for typefaces, and CARTO and OpenStreetMap for map tiles.
Your location on the near-me page
The walk-in clinics near me page shows nearby clinics in three ways.
- Approximate location. When the page opens, a small service we run on Cloudflare looks up your approximate city from your internet connection (your IP address) and sends only that city and a point on the map back to your browser. Our service does not store or record your IP address or this result, and we do not share it with anyone. Cloudflare processes the request under its own privacy policy. The guess can be wrong, especially on a mobile network.
- Exact location. Only if you press Use my location does your browser ask for permission and share your position with the page. It is used in your browser to sort clinics by distance. It is not sent to us or stored.
- City or postal code. If you type a city or postal code, we match it in your browser using our own listings. What you type is not sent to us.

We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies
Google Analytics uses cookies to measure visits. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser. We do not use cookies for advertising or retargeting.

Each service has its own privacy policy. Some of them are based outside Canada, so your information may be processed in other countries, including the United States.
How long we keep information
We keep form messages and listing edit submissions for as long as we need them to respond, to review changes, and to keep a record of what was changed on a listing and why. Subscription records are kept as long as needed for billing and tax purposes. Google Analytics data is kept according to Google's retention settings. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to our using it. Email info@clinicfinder.ca and we will respond.
Children's privacy
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new date.
