Dr. Stout and the staff are the kindest, most caring physicians I’ve ever met. She truly cares about her patience. If it wasn’t for the care, I received at Capitol Vision care in Morinville I would probably be blind by now. Severe glaucoma is something that you don’t feel. When Dr. Stout made the discovery, she took immediate action. She really made me feel like I mattered. I’ve had emergency appointments, Referrals to specialist and surgery. I’m happily on the road to recovery. Thank you Dr. Stout for You’re kind, caring and inquisitive nature. You are the best❤️
Absolutely amazing team! My daughter had to get the stingy drops and the assistant that facilitated and handled my daughter’s care both times was super kind and amazing with her. I would recommend 100% especially if you have little ones!
I had an excellent experience at Capital Vision Care Morinville for the LipiFlow eye procedure. The LipiFlow treatment itself was comfortable and far less intrusive than I expected. Megan Dukewich, my dry eye hygienist made sure I felt at ease the entire time, explaining each step as she went. I was in knowledgeable and capable hands. Since the procedure, I’ve noticed a real improvement in my dry eye symptoms with more comfort, less irritation, and better overall eye health. Morinville capital vision is great! They helped my son pick out a nice pair of glasses. He walked out feeling great! They spent time looking for a new pair and really let him try a lot of frames on to see which he liked best! Highly recommend!
My glasses were just not cutting it anymore so I checked to see if I could get squeezed in because everything was fuzzy. They took me right away and I saw Dr.Kim! She was amazing. Checked all the things to be sure it was my glasses and not my eyes! Once we figured it out that it was my glasses the team helped me pick out a new pair.

Do I need a referral for an eye exam?
No. You can book directly with Capital Vision Care Morinville for a routine eye exam, a contact lens exam, a dry eye concern or many urgent eye concerns. Book online or call (780) 939-4720.
What does a comprehensive eye exam include?
It may include a health and vision history, prescription testing, eye pressure screening, retinal imaging, focusing and eye coordination checks, and a detailed look at the front and back of your eyes. Most exams take about 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the testing needed, whether dilation is required, and whether you are also being fitted for glasses or contacts.
Does Alberta Health Care cover eye exams?
Alberta Health Care (AHCIP) insures one routine eye exam per benefit year for children under 19 and seniors 65 and older. Since February 1, 2025 those exams are only partially covered, so a co-pay applies. Routine exams for adults 19 to 64 are not covered by AHCIP, though many extended health plans cover them.
Do you bill my insurance directly?
Yes. Capital Vision Care direct bills most major insurers, including Alberta Blue Cross, ASEBP, Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Green Shield, Medavie, Quikcard and AUPE, along with many other private and employer plans.
Can I be seen for an eye emergency?
Yes. Same-day appointments are available for sudden eye pain, redness or vision changes, so you do not need to wait in the ER. The optometrists assess, diagnose and treat many urgent eye problems and can prescribe medication. For a chemical burn, a penetrating eye injury, sudden complete loss of vision or severe trauma, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Is there parking, and is the clinic accessible?
Free on-site patient parking, with accessible stalls close to the entrance. The clinic is wheelchair accessible, with a barrier-free exam room. Eye exams are offered in English, Arabic and Spanish.
When should my child have their first eye exam?
Children should have their first eye exam between 6 and 9 months, at least one exam between ages 2 and 5, and an exam every year from ages 6 to 19.
