Patients can write reviews on clinic pages. These are separate from the Google ratings and reviews shown elsewhere on the page, and they are always labelled as ClinicFinder reviews. This page explains how we handle them.
How a review gets published
- You write the review and confirm your email address with a link we send you.
- A person on our team reads it. Nothing is published automatically.
- Approved reviews are added to the clinic page the next time the site is updated, which is not instant.
What we publish
We publish reviews that describe a first hand experience in the reviewer's own words and are civil in tone. Negative reviews are published on the same terms as positive ones. We do not remove a review because it is critical, whoever asks, and a clinic cannot pay to have reviews removed. Paying for a Featured listing does not change which reviews appear.
What we do not publish
- Personal health information about anyone other than what you choose to say about your own visit, and anything that identifies another patient.
- Names of staff or other individuals, accusations of crime or professional misconduct, or anything that reads as a legal or regulatory complaint. Complaints about a practitioner belong with their regulatory college, and we will point you there.
- Reviews from clinic staff, owners, their relatives or competitors, and reviews that were paid for or rewarded.
- Copies or near copies of another review, and reviews about a different business than the one on the page.
- Links, phone numbers, email addresses, advertising, hate speech or harassment.
Where a review is mostly fine but contains a phone number or a name, we may remove just that part and publish the rest. We never change the meaning of what you wrote.
Replies and reports
Clinic owners whose listing is verified can reply to a review. Anyone can ask us to look at a review again by emailing info@clinicfinder.ca with the clinic name and the review. We assess every report ourselves and do not promise a response time. A flagged review stays visible unless it breaks this policy.
Our own average
When a clinic has ClinicFinder reviews, the page shows their average and count, labelled as ClinicFinder reviews. This average is not mixed into the Google rating used on listing cards.
Your information
Your email address is never shown. See our privacy policy for what we keep and for how long, and our terms for what you confirm when you submit a review. Reviews are the opinions of their authors, not of ClinicFinder.ca, and are not medical advice.
