About medical aesthetics clinics

Medical aesthetics clinics offer cosmetic treatments such as Botox and other wrinkle relaxing injections, dermal and lip fillers, microneedling, chemical peels, laser hair removal and facials like HydraFacial. We list a clinic in this category only when its own website names a regulated health professional who does or oversees the treatments: a physician, nurse practitioner, registered nurse, or a pharmacist with injection authorization. Hair, nail, lash and day spas are not listed. Cosmetic treatments are not covered by provincial health plans, and suitability differs from person to person, so book a consultation first and ask who will treat you.

Across Canada, 92 medical aesthetics clinics list Saturday hours and 19 list Sunday hours. The average patient rating is 4.8 out of 5, and 135 medical aesthetics listings are rated 4.5 or higher.

Questions about medical aesthetics clinics

What to expect before you go.

Who can give Botox and filler injections in Canada?

Injectable treatments use prescription products, so they are given by or under the direction of regulated health professionals: physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and, in some provinces, pharmacists with additional authorization. The rules differ by province. Ask the clinic who will treat you, and look up that person on the public register of their provincial college.

How does ClinicFinder decide which clinics to list here?

A clinic is listed under Medical Aesthetics only when its own website names at least one regulated provider by name and credential, such as a registered nurse injector or a medical director. We check each website ourselves. Businesses that offer only hair, nails, lashes, tanning, waxing or spa treatments are not listed.

Are cosmetic treatments covered by health insurance?

No. Provincial health plans do not cover cosmetic treatments, and extended health plans rarely do. Some treatments done for a medical reason, such as Botox for migraines or excessive sweating, may be covered in part, so ask your doctor and your insurer.

What should I ask at a consultation?

Ask who will do the treatment and what their credentials are, which product will be used, what the risks and aftercare are, how many sessions you may need, and the full cost. A good clinic answers these questions before you book a treatment.

How much do Botox, fillers and laser hair removal cost?

Prices vary by clinic, by the product and the amount used, and by the area treated. Ask the clinic for a written price before your treatment. ClinicFinder does not list prices.

Do I need a referral?

No. Most medical aesthetics clinics let you book a consultation directly.
